48th Annual Peanut Festival

Summer may be coming to an end, but the holiday fun is just getting started! Ramey Chevrolet (serving Sherman, Denison, Whitesboro and the surrounding areas) is excited to invite you to the 48th Annual Whitesboro Peanut Festival, sponsored by the Whitesboro Area Chamber of Commerce. This event has been a staple of the Texoma community for several decades, and is always a family-favorite.

 Join us Saturday, October 19, 2013 in Downtown Whitesboro for a day of FREE activities and fun for the entire family! Highlights of the day include, but are not limited to: a parade, carnival, entertainment stages, as well as numerous games and attractions. There will also be more than 200 shopping booths, so don’t forget to bring some cash to purchase your favorite unique and hand-crafted items. We would love to have you join us for this special event, right before the busy holiday season kicks off.

During the festival, the 5K Goober Run will also take place, sponsored by the Whitesboro High School Band. This race will take place at the beginning of the day, beginning at 7:50 am, with registration opening at 6:30 am. The race will conclude by 9:00 am, and an awards ceremony will immediately follow. The entrance fee is $30 on the day of the event, but there are two early-bird specials available online for advance registration. The best rate of $20 is available until Friday, October 11. After that, registration will be $25 for those who register the week before the event.

The course will begin in Downtown Whitesboro (near the Peanut Festival main stage) and conclude at Whitesboro High School. The course will be marked, with water stations available throughout. And if you end up not being able to make it the entire distance, we will have buses available to transport you back to Downtown at no charge. In the event that this happens, and you realize foot transportation does not suit you best, head on over to Ramey Chevrolet, a short drive from Whitesboro in Sherman. Our friendly associates will help you pick out the new or gently used vehicle that’s right for you, and get you on the road in no time!
